It's that time of year again. It’s the end of the second week of September. The air is crisp and cool in the morning. The afternoons are simply beautiful.
We live in Minnesota
Today there’s no wind! The temps. are, like seventy-five. It is one of those days that just makes you feel nothing in the world could possibly be wrong or go wrong.
With all that has gone on in 2020, we desperately need a few days like this. My wife & I are picking grapes from our organic grapevines out in the yard.
I should mention we are eating grapes too. We are visiting about an upcoming gathering of friends we are having for dinner Friday night . . . we are harvesting and eating natures bounty~
Sometimes it’s hard to put them in the bucket.
We caught them just right this year. They are so plump & sweet it’s hard to let go of them into the bucket. Your hand just travels right up to your mouth and back to the vine.
We have a contest, every year with the wild turkeys.
Who gets the grapes this year; us or the turkeys? We’ve won out for a couple of years.
They still get some though. We always leave some. So really everybody gets their share of the wholesome goodness that mother nature provides for us.
The turkeys, on the other hand, are not so generous. They usually clean things up pretty well! They will be by in the next 10 days or so to collect their share of the bounty.
My wife has filled her bucket & is off to town to pick up groceries for the upcoming get together with friends.
She’s quicker than I when it comes to picking grapes.
So I’m left alone in the yard.
Picking grapes.
There’s no wind.
The temp is about 75 . . .
This is about as good as life gets . . .
